STUCK

Our 2025 Narrative Show

Our 2025 narrative show told the story of two Peckham residents who face change in very different ways. The younger, ambitious, and more mobile of the two looks beyond the familiar to seek a life elsewhere, while his uncle, older and less able, is anchored to a life under threat. A council letter promising a bright new future for their area sparks a clash of perspectives, revealing hidden struggles and forcing questions of home, belonging, and family into sharp focus. As the uncle’s early dementia emerges, the nephew must confront what it truly means to hold onto the life and place that he loves. Portrayed with depth and authenticity by Tobias Adetula and Yinka Awoniyi, STUCK was both a deeply personal story and a reflection of wider social change, rooted in the real-life experience of Peckham, a community drastically affected, and altered, by forces of gentrification and displacement.

‘STUCK’ Is Borne Out Of Real Life Experiences Of Gentrif‌ication and Displacement.
