WHAT WE DO

We create original pieces that are written by our Young Creatives and professional artists together.

The idea for the themes of our pieces come from our young people. They work with one of our artists who leads the process to come up with a theme and title that everyone is happy with.

Themes we have done before include Routes -about someone on a first date asked ‘where are you from’, Verified - about the dangers of social media addiction, and Love in Many Forms - about love!  They are whatever our young people are interested in making.

We then bring in a songwriter and composer who work with our young people to create the music for the show. We have creative song-writing sessions which everyone contributes to, which instrumentalists join as well to feed in ideas. This is where all our music is made!

When these songs are finished, we go into local schools to teach them the songs. They’ll become the choir that performs in the final show.

The composer takes these songs away to arrange them for the orchestra.

If the show has actors in it too, the storywriter writes a script for this, based on the theme and storyline we have decided all together.

Now everything is ready! The orchestra and actors come together with the choir and Young Creatives to perform the final piece
