The Endz at Peckham Festival

“The system rejected us when it should have protected us. This is our story”.

Told through spoken word, song, rap, and accompanied by our Orchestra, The Endz tells the story of two friends torn apart, and the heartbreak caused by youth knife crime in London.

Two years ago, an incredible group of teenagers from Peckham asked us to make a piece of music with them about gang culture, based on their own experiences and realities. Their creativity, passion and talent has absolutely blown us away, and we were excited so finally perform The Endz in July after the pandemic scuppered our original plans. We were amazed by the incredible response from audiences: “out of this world good, and moving”, and are back by popular demand!

The Endz has been created by 20 young people from Harris Academy Peckham, working with singers Abimaro Gunnell and Fran Lobo, poet Yomi Sode, theatre maker Paul Cree, and composer Kate Whitley.

“We created this project because we wanted to let people know what our reality is as there is not enough awareness. As young people we are told that we have the power to change things; but people are still not listening to us. Nothing changes. This is our way of spreading the word and we hope people will listen.” - Nathaniel Casaclang, young artist from Harris Academy Peckham
