Paws and Padlocks is a brand new children’s opera commissioned by Blackheath Halls to celebrate the fifth anniversary of their annual children's opera. It has been written by our Artistic Director Kate Whitley with words by Sabrina Mahfouz.
The Story
Two children are mistakenly locked in a zoo for the night where they discover talking beasts and dastardly plans afoot!
The production will involve 60 children recruited from local schools, Music Hubs, the Royal Greenwich and Blackheath Halls Youth Choir and elsewhere, performing a fully staged, original opera alongside professionals, local adults and vocal students from Trinity Laban. We are accompanying all the performances with Musical Director Christopher Stark.
There are four performances in total
Saturday 8 April - 2pm & 6pm
Sunday 9 April - 2pm & 6pm
