M: What made you get involved with the Multi-Story Orchestra?
J: I moved to London in September and I wanted to get involved in work that encourages people to get into music. Music is a gateway for people to express themselves and helps people unlock hidden talents that they might never have known they had.
M: What is your favourite part about your role at Multi-Story Orchestra?
J: My favourite part about my role at Multi-Story is how varied it is. All the great people I get to work with and I like finding out about all the interesting projects that the Young Creatives are getting themselves involved in outside of Multi-Story as well. It’s cool to see them grow and develop in their own way.
M: What is your favourite type of music?
J: The genre of music that got me into music was 90’s hip hop. Through that, I got into music samples and other genres of music like jazz and soul.
M: What is the most surprising fact about yourself?
J: I once made Nelson Mandela’s bodyguard a cup of tea.
M: How do you spend your free time?
J: I spend my free time listening to music and I’ve recently been building a pair of speakers at home. I like watching football at the weekend and I like learning about physics (although I am in no way qualified to chat about it).
M: What has been your favourite moment at Multi-Story?
J: It would have to be watching the interactive performances at Awake. It showcased everyone’s unique talents within the orchestra. It was well laid out so you had some people leading parts that worked well with their singing or dancing. All the staff were there too we were just having a good time.
